SPS board to interview six candidates for Position 5 seat at Monday work session
School board position interviews
The community is invited to sit in on Springfield School Board candidate interviews set to take place at a 4 p.m. work session on Monday, Sept. 23. Those who wish to provide feedback can do so during the public comment portion of the regular school board meeting which will take place following the work session at 7 p.m. Monday.
Current members of the board will interview a total of six people who applied for the open Position 5 seat. The list of applicants includes Lisa Barrager, Nicole DeGraff, Kevin Durfee, Shelby Lohr, Robyn Sattler and Melanie Svenrou.
The current board includes recently elected members Naomi Raven, Position 4, who was appointed to the position in October of 2018; new member Todd Mann who was elected to Position 1 in the May special election to take over for incumbent Laurie Adams; Board Chair Zach Bessett and Emilio Hernandez who were both elected in May 2017. Their terms expire June 30, 2021.
Both the work session and the board meeting will take place at the Springfield Public Schools district office located at 640 A Street. Meetings are held in the board room located on the second floor.
