Filing deadline for school board election is March 18
It’s election season and the Springfield School Board has three open seats. The next Lane County Special election will take place May 18, however, the deadline to file for an open position is fast approaching.
Those who wish to run for a school board seat - Position 2, Position 3 or Position 5 - should complete a candidate filing form and submit it to Lane County elections by March 18.
The current board includes members Todd Mann, Position 1; Emilio Hernandez, Position 2; Board Chair Zach Bessett, Position 3; Naomi Raven, Position 4; Lisa Barrager, Position 5.
Springfield Public Schools strives for diversity in representation and encourages any member of the community with a passion for public education to apply for a position on the school board.
