Opt out forms for state testing now available

Opt out forms for Oregon's statewide summative tests are now available for the 2019-20 school year. 

Students in grades 3-8 and 11 take the Smarter Balanced tests (or Oregon Extended Assessment, for certain students with disabilities) in the spring. Most students participate in state testing, but parents have the right to opt their children out if they choose.

House Bill 2655 permits parents and adult students to annually opt-out of Oregon’s statewide summative tests in English Language Arts and Math by submitting the form provided below.
