Springfield staff honored with district excellence awards
Springfield Public Schools holds Employee Excellence Awards
Springfield district employees and volunteers were recognized for their outstanding work at the district's first Employee Excellence Awards ceremony and reception held Tuesday night at Thurston High.
The event featured performances by the Springfield High School Choir and refreshments prior to awards being presented.
Springfield Superintendent Bruce Smolnisky and union representatives from certified and classified groups presented the awards to the winners, reading quotes from some of the collected nominations.
More than 80 staff members were nominated by their colleagues earlier in April. Nomination categories included certified, classified, administrators/confidential and supervisors. District volunteers were also nominated.
Certified position nominations were broken down into four categories: new educator, elementary, secondary and specialist.
Congrats to the winners and those who were nominated!
