SPARK camp returns July 2023

SPARK camp is back July 2023 at Springfield Public Schools!

We’re excited to offer this FREE program to SPS students currently enrolled in kindergarten through 7th grades.

SPARK stands for Springfield Academics + Recreation for Kids.  SPARK camp focuses on enrichment, academics, recreation and community, but kids will tell you that it’s just plain FUN as they stay busy and active.

In addition to a wide variety of activities, breakfast and lunch are provided.  Limited transportation is available for those who qualify.  Caregivers can communicate their interest in receiving transportation information when they register their children.

SPARK camp runs for four weeks in the month of July.

Dates: July 6 - 27, 2023

Days/Times: Monday - Thursday, 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (except the first week when the program only runs Thursday and Friday due to the holiday).

Elementary Locations: Maple, Mt. Vernon, Page, Riverbend, Thurston Elementary

Middle School Locations: Agnes Stewart, Hamlin

All kindergarten through 7th grade students currently enrolled in a Springfield school are eligible to attend, even if their school is not a SPARK camp location.

Students will be provided with breakfast and lunch.  Limited transportation is available for those that qualify.

What can you expect from SPARK camp?

  • Fun, interesting weekly themes
  • Hands-on, project-based learning
  • Academic skill support
  • Recreation (PE, music, art)
  • Choice time
  • Social-emotional/community building
