The community is invited to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.s' social values in our community at the 22nd annual MLK Jr. march and celebration!
The celebration will also showcase local student essays, poetry and other art entries as well as musical entertainment.
Students across the county were invited to participate in the annual contest for which indivudual and group projects, as well as artwork, poetry and essays could be submitted.
The event is set to take place from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20. The march will kick off the event beginning at the Springfield Justice Center (230 4th Street) and ending at Springfield High School (875 7th Street).
A celebration and student art reception will then take place at the school from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Keynote speakers will include the top winners of high school speech entries.
This family-friendly event is free and open to the community to join.
