PE classes throughout the day took advantage of the exceptional weather and participated in the World-Wide Welcome Youth Relay, each running approximately a mile to participate in the event.

The students started the class with a warm welcome to their assigned country of Ukraine and then proceeded to pass the baton and run laps around their turf field.

“I didn’t know how hard it would be!” a 3^rd grade student shared, adding “I can’t believe they [the athletes] do this for a job!”

The remaining classes will participate in the project tomorrow as photos and the student’s welcome messages will be shared with the Oregon22 organizers.
