Celebrating Our Amazing Graduates!

This year, SPS is awarding diplomas to 664 students (plus 35 GEDs)! See whole list in the June 6 Register-Guard.
 
Springfield High School: 264 students graduates on Friday, June 8, at 7 p.m. Catherine Oswalt is valedictorian; salutatorians are Emma Babcock and Payton Swartout. Highest honors students are Erika Arciga, Daniel Bray, Emilee Daley, Kadon Engle, and Orion Phillips. Here are their current plans for the future:

Emma Babcock and Benjamin Walsh both received full ride Ford Scholarships, and another student, Hannah West, also received scholarships totally more than $100,000. Several students also received the UO's Pathway Oregon grant, requiring a minimum 3.40 GPA, providing nearly $12,000 a year toward tuition for four years. 

Thurston High School: 284 students will graduate on Saturday, June 9, at 1 p.m. at the Hult Center. Class valedictarians are Lillian Clement, Karina Corona Barrera, Tiffany Hilkey, Regan Minchin, Bianca Newell, Ethan Reeder, Mary Rothrock, J.J. Sargeant, and Madeleine Smith. Salutatorians are Brock Crolly and Michaela Opdyke. Here are their current plans for the future:

Other notables: Ethan Reed was a National Merit Finalist, receiving a full-ride scholarship to U of Idaho. Sean Gley was awarded a Ford scholarship, covering 90% of unmet need and graduate school if he meets the criteria. He will be attending the UO. Andrew Watts received a full-ride scholarship to West Point Military Academy, which he intends to pursue. He had also been awarded the Chick Evans Scholarship, one of just 9 from Oregon to receive this scholarship. Additionally 18 students received the UO's Pathway Oregon grant, requiring a minimum 3.40 GPA, providing nearly $12,000 a year toward tuition for four years. 
 
Gateways High School: 50 students will graduate on June 6 at the Wildish Theater at 7:30 p.m. 
 
SPS Night School graduates 35 students on June 6, 5:30 p.m., at the Wildish Theater.
 
Academy of Arts & Academics: 66 students will graduate at the A3 ceremony on Saturday, June 9, at 4 p.m. at Springfield High. Nine students will receive honors diplomas: Isabel Cerón, Jem Cowan, Sam Huff, Zia Lasky, Marnie Pagter, Morning Glory Ritchie, Trinity Scott-Hinkle, Annie Vote, and Alessandra Weiss.
