The ACE Awards program is a collaboration
among the Eugene, Bethel, and Springfield school districts and the Eugene and Springfield chambers of commerce to honor exceptional
teachers, administrators, classified staff members, and volunteers from
each school district.
The ACE website is now open for your 2017 nominations, through Friday, March 24.
Please note: For those who may have it bookmarked from past years, the link has changed to www.theaceaward.org.
Every complete nomination will garner recognition for the exceptional person who was nominated, and on April 25 during the ACE Awards ceremony at the Hult Center, one Springfield nominee in each category will win a cash award of $1,000 to support education at his or her school. The winning ACE teacher/licensed employee will also be recognized as the SPS Certified Employee of the Year at a separate event in May.
Anyone can nominate: employees, parents, student and community members. Note: Past winners are posted on their website.
Nomination pro-tip: You can nominate any licensed
staff under the "teacher" category - including nurses, counselors, some
librarians. Wondering what a classified employee is? They are
non-licensed staff, such as kitchen workers, secretaries, bus drivers,
custodians, facilities workers, payroll technicians, etc. Also, the people who assist teachers in the classroom and beyond are very often educational assistants, who are classified employees, or possibly volunteers. Not sure what category your favorite person should be entered in?
Call the school to find out!
We all know employees and volunteers who make a difference for students every day, and this is a great way to recognize them.
Nomination pro-tip: It is recommended you compose the nomination in a Word document and then cut and paste it into the website form, otherwise you might time out before you can submit.
