Community Opportunities

  • Free SPARKS Summer Camps

SPARK camp is back July 2023 at Springfield Public Schools!

We’re excited to offer this FREE program to SPS students currently enrolled in kindergarten through 7th grades.

SPARK stands for Springfield Academics + Recreation for Kids.  SPARK camp focuses on enrichment, academics, recreation and community, but kids will tell you that it’s just plain FUN as they stay busy and active.

In addition to a wide variety of activities, breakfast and lunch are provided.  Limited transportation is available for those who qualify.  Caregivers can communicate their interest in receiving transportation information when they register their children.

SPARK camp runs for four weeks in the month of July:

    • July 6 – July 27, 2023
    • Monday-Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (except the first week, program only runs Thursday and Friday due to the holiday)

Registration is now open at the SPARK registration form and families are encouraged to register by May 5, 2023.  Registrations will be accepted as space allows.

Clothes ClosetFamilies, do you need help with clothes for your kids (or yourself)?

Our neighbors at Genesis Community Church (1020 Janus St) have started a Clothing Closet for neighborhood families! It is currently scheduled to be open the second Saturday of each month, from 10 to 12 and the 4th Tuesday of each month from 10 to12.

You do not have to be a member of their church to get free clothing.

They also welcome donations of gently used clothing that your kids have outgrown; donations will be taken during the Clothing Closet open times or on Sundays.
