SPS Board appoints Bob Brew as new Board member

Springfield Public Schools is excited to welcome Bob Brew to fill the vacated Position 2 seat on the Board of Directors. During its March 9 meeting, the Board appointed Brew with a 3-1 vote. He took the oath of office immediately following the meeting.

Brew is a Springfield High School graduate, who earned a BA in Economics from Miami University and an MBA from Portland State. He brings more than 35 years of experience in finance and management, having served in various roles for Lane County, the University of Oregon, the cities of Eugene and Springfield, and the state of Oregon. Brew is also a former City of Springfield councilor and planning commissioner.

In addition, Brew has previous experience in education, working with the Oregon Student Access Commission and Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Commission.

In his application, Brew said he was focused on restoring public trust in the district and encouraging positive communication with the community and school workers.

Brew replaces Heather Quaas-Annsa. He will serve on the Board until June 30, 2027.
