School Meals Free for 2024-25 School Year
Students throughout Springfield Public Schools (SPS) will again have access to a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge! SPS is participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs operating under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2024-25 school year. This means all breakfast and lunch is free for students throughout the school year.
On an average week, Nutrition Services can serve anywhere from 36,000 to 38,000 meals to SPS students. During the 2023-24 school year, students were able to choose from a more robust set of food choices, which will continue for the 2024-25 school year. New menus offer even more exciting and nutritious options than ever before. The breakfast and lunch menus will offer a delicious variety of entrees, sides, fruits and vegetables, and milk varieties. The meals are developed and analyzed to provide not only delicious options, but those that are nutritionally balanced, fueling students for a successful day at school.
