Mariachi Del Sol featured on Good Morning America

Springfield High School's Mariachi Del Sol has received national attention with an appearance on Good Morning America!
The band was featured live on Good Morning America's "Morning of Mariachi" on Friday, October 6, 2023 during Hispanic Heritage Month. Schools from Los Angeles, California and Tucson, Arizona were also featured.
Prior to the live appearance, producers from Good Morning America visited Springfield High School to conduct interviews and collect footage of Mariachi Del Sol practicing and performing.
During the broadcast, it was announced that the bands will each receive a $5,000 grant from the Guitar Center Music Foundation for instruments.
Mariachi Del Sol was created in 2008 and recently celebrated 15 years with a quinceañera. The group has earned a number of awards and performs up to 40 times a year for school, business and community events.
