Springfield Public Schools is actively recruiting for bus drivers to join our award-winning team and make a difference in the lives of Springfield students. Bus drivers are often the first and last District employee a student encounters. This can have a profound impact as drivers are often connected to students, their families and the greater community.  

So why should people consider getting behind the wheel? Put simply, the SPS Transportation Department is a great place to work! Employees often share that the Transportation team feels like family.   

Not only are drivers eligible to earn competitive wages and benefits, but they get paid while earning their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). SPS operates a newer, air conditioned fleet. Drivers can add additional routes throughout the day and on the weekends to supplement their income. Plus, there are opportunities for growth inside the department.
