Bargaining Update - December 18

Springfield Public Schools (SPS) and the Springfield Education Association (SEA) met on December 18 and continued negotiations. During this session, the two sides engaged in some challenging conversations as part of the ongoing bargaining process. The parties were not able to reach agreement on any of the remaining contract articles.
The December 18 session was held without a mediator. Both parties have agreed to meet again on January 9, 2026, with a mediator present, to continue working toward a potential agreement.
SPS remains committed to working collaboratively with SEA to reach an agreement that supports students, staff, and the long-term stability of the District. Further updates will be shared as discussions continue.
