Springfield voters chose the new board members during the May 20, 2025, election. Heather Quaas-Annsa, who had been appointed to Position 2 in August 2024, won her seat outright. Jonathan Light was re-elected to Position 3. Amber Langworthy was elected to Position 5.

Board Selects New Leadership

As part of its annual process, the Board selected new leadership. Director Light will serve as Board Chair for the 2025-26 school year. Director Ken Kohl will serve as Vice Chair.

The board leadership’s primary role includes presiding over board meetings, setting meeting agendas in collaboration with the superintendent, and ensuring the board fulfills its governance duties, including setting policy and evaluating the superintendent.
