Bargaining Update - December 18

Springfield Public Schools (SPS) and the Springfield Education Association (SEA) met on December 18 and continued negotiations. During this session, the two sides engaged in some challenging conversations as part of the ongoing bargaining process.

Springfield elementary students banded together to honor honor Ruby Bridges, the girl who became the first Black child to attend a formerly all-white public elementary school in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Board Approves Structural Engineering Contract to Assess Buildings

At the end of the 2024–25 school year, Springfield Public Schools (SPS) and other districts insured through Property and Casualty Coverage for Education (PACE) were notified of changes to property insurance coverage for buildings more than 50 years old that use engineered wood trusses (such as bowstring or glue-lam trusses).
