Mr. Todd Hamilton
Todd Hamilton is the Superintendent for Springfield Public Schools.
Hamilton joined the district in July 2019 following a national search and brings eight years of experience to the role.
With a passion for education since 1995 where he began his work as an elementary teacher in Hermiston, Hamilton brings a depth of understanding of the complexities, challenges, and joys of public education. He has served in an array of educational departments, including the classroom, instructional technology, student services, curriculum and staff development. Most recently in his role as a longtime superintendent in Creswell, Hamilton has recognized that supporting teachers in honing their craft is where he finds the most fulfillment.
Past accomplishments include expanding programs across the K-12 continuum, including early learning programs, college-level courses, and CTE programming. He has also supported a number of community partnerships aimed at addressing the social, emotional and learning needs of students. This intentional partnership with community organizations is something that Hamilton appreciates about Springfield and will continue to build upon moving forward.
Hamilton is recognized for his leadership as a regular presenter to aspiring administrators, and in coordinating a nationally replicated program that provides training assistance to schools and community groups.
Relationships and supporting the community in which he serves are foundational principles to Hamilton. He currently serves as a member of the Springfield Education Foundation Board, Connected Lane County Board, Early Childhood Hub of Lane County Governance Cosortium, Joint CCO Community Advisory Council, Wildish Community Theater Board, as well as advisory boards for projects with University of Oregon and Bushnell University.
Ensuring that Springfield Public Schools has a shared vision of success and support, creating a system of schools that are welcoming, encouraging and supportive of everyone is a core mission for Hamilton. He values individuals and hearing their unique perspectives, truly understanding the important role that public education plays in our community.
