Springfield Superintendent Search Overview

Message from the School Board

At the end of the 2018 academic year, the Springfield School Board embarked on the search for the next Superintendent of Springfield Public Schools. That fall McPherson & Jacobson, LLC was selected to conduct the national recruitment process for the right fit for SPS.

Board Chair Zach Bessett said, "We are looking for an individual who will build upon the recent successes in student growth, and graduation rates. Someone who will leverage the targeted reinvestments in curriculum and resources the board has made in recent budget years." Bessett further shared his appreciation for McPherson & Jacobson's approach to community involvement noting "Springfield is a supportive and engaged community, and while the board will ultimately make the selection we want to ensure our candidates know the support they have at their disposal."
