Title Programs

The federal Every Student Succeeds Act, or ESSA, puts into place several laws pertaining to student education.

Several of these federal Title programs apply to our school district:

Improving Basic Programs Operated by Local Education Agency (Title I Part A)

Title I, Part A (Title I) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESEA) provides financial assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards. Federal funds are currently allocated through four statutory formulas that are based primarily on census poverty estimates and the cost of education in each state.

McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Improvements Act of 2001 (Title X)

This part provides funding and guidance to assist with programming for students without a fixed address to ensure that all students have equal access to the same free, appropriate public education.
