Motor Development Team
Students who demonstrate a significant delay in fine or gross motor skills will have access to the district motor development team.
Our team of occupational therapists, physical therapists and adapted physical education specialists will help the student get the most from their education, and to be as independent and safe as possible at school.
Working as a Team
The therapists work as a team to design a program that will enhance the student's school experience, which may involve adaptive equipment. They will work with the student's doctor as needed.
- As much as possible, all therapy is delivered to students within the classroom setting in a one-on-one or small-group setting so they do not miss time with their classmates.
- Therapists also work with parents as much as possible to also provide support for the student at home.
If you feel that your child has motor skill issues, contact the Special Programs office prior to their first day of kindergarten.
