Technology Plan

The 2012-15 SPS Technology Plan outlines the District's goals and strategies to support 21st-century teaching and learning. The first goal of the plan is related to teaching and learning "Strategically deploy technology-based tools and training aligned with district goals, initiatives, and/or underserved curriculum areas to support the teaching and learning process."

Reaching this goal will require commitment from district leadership, teachers, school board, and budget committee in three areas:

  • Access — equipping staff and students with current and working technology tools and resources;

  • Professional Development — commitment to provide and commitment to participate in high-quality professional development; and

  • Teaching and Learning — equipping staff and students with 21st century technology skills in order to close the technology “skill gap” among staff and students.
