    Frequently Asked Questions

What will be the last day of school for seniors not needing additional time to complete their credits?

June 6th, will be the last day for students not needing additional time to complete graduation requirements.

How will you honor seniors, and what will graduation ceremonies look like?

SPS will provide individual opportunities for each senior to have their name called and for them to walk across the graduation stage wearing their caps and gowns to be recognized for the tremendous accomplishment that is high school graduation and the culmination of their K-12 career. We are committed to creating an event that allows seniors to share meaningful, individual celebrations, and ultimately watch their classmates, speakers, and the traditional commencement moments compiled into a 2020 commencement ceremony video fo reach high school. The district has hired a local video production company to record each graduate receiving their diploma and also sharing memories.

The decision to hold an event was made with careful consideration of the health and safety restrictions currently in place across Oregon. The district is working with a production company to iron out the details of the event and scheduling seniors for their walk across the stage. As of May 21, seniors should have received further communications from their building principals.

My family has ordered class rings, announcements, or other celebratory items.

Our schools are working with vendors to determine a time and procedure for families to pick up graduation items. As of May 20, seniors should have received communication from their principals about when and where to pick up such items.

When will seniors be able to turn in their laptop and other district technology devices?

Plans for how and when to return laptops and other district technology will be shared with seniors and families via email.
