Harvest of the Month
Springfield Public Schools partners with local farms to bring local fruits & vegetables to your child's lunch tray by participating in the Oregon Harvest of the Month program.
- Each month one locally grown fruit or vegetable is highlighted and served weekly in all SPS cafeterias.
- Harvest of the Month gives students the chance to taste and learn about the importance of eating fruits and vegetables.
- Students are encouraged to try new things to develop their tastebuds and expand their vision of what "healthy" looks and tastes like.
- Each month there is a poster highlighting the harvest of the month which helps your child learn about local farms and the benefits of the fruits and vegetables they're eating.
