McKinney-Vento Resources

School Supplies
- Providing school supplies to students helps eliminate a barrier that prevents some students from attending school.
- Families and students new to the district or who are running low on supplies may obtain supplies throughout the year during drop-in hours or by appointment.
- Quality backpack
- Basic packet of school supplies
- Special project supplies (as needed)
Summer Camp
- Each summer a free Multicultural Day Camp is offered to incoming 6th and 7th graders.
- This camp is a three-week session, with enrollment priority given to McKinney-Vento students.
- Activities are focused around diversity, problem solving, and empathy building.
Teen Drop-In
- Each Wednesday during the school year from 3:30-7, in collaboration with Looking Glass Youth & Family Services.
- Free hot dinner served at 5 pm.
- Provides homework and resumé help, assistance with food handlers cards and job application assistance.
- Activities are focused on job/college readiness, positive youth development and skill building.
Transportation
- Transportation is arranged on a case by case basis, to ensure attendance of students who are part of the McKinney-Vento program.
- This service is to provide access to school, afterschool programs, and family involvement events.
