Springfield Public Schools is committed to ensuring that every student has access to the support, resources and individual assistance to achieve success. Our McKinney-Vento program works to ensure that students who are experiencing homelessness have access to academic and social/emotional support.
What is McKinney-Vento?
With the support of the Springfield Public Schools and our extensive network of community partners we serve homeless students, as defined by the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. Our program seeks to identify homeless students and assist in the elimination of barriers to enrollment and education. We accomplish this through training of district staff, building community collaborations, and partnering with students, youth and families to provide relevant services and programming that ensures the student’s academic success.Services Provided- Resource Referrals
