TRDR Announcements

  • As a reminder the Equity Advisory Committee is being convened in alignment with SB 732, which was just signed into law, and the details are summarized below.

    Duties of the EAC:
    (a) Advising the school board and superintendent about the educational equity impacts of policy decisions, and (b) Informing the school board and superintendent when a situation arises in a school of the district that negatively impacts underrepresented students and advising the board and superintendent on how best to handle that situation.

    EAC membership
The district’s equity advisory committee shall be selected by the board and the superintendent and must be composed of parents, employees, students, and community members from the district. For the purpose of selecting members, the superintendent and board must do the following: solicit names of possible members from the community and ensure that membership is primarily representative of underserved student groups. Members may not be excluded based on immigration status or language spoken.

To be clear, this is just a basic interest form, not an application, but it will allow me to capture names and contact info of interested students and parents/caregivers now, and then I can follow up with them about the process over the summer.

The interest forms are linked here, and the interests forms have a description of the duties of the EAC embedded within.

Thanks so much! I know this is a busy time. If you can get this out to staff as well as parents/caregivers in end of the year communications it would be so appreciated!!!
